Hello everyone.

I don't know if there are any DJ-202/505/808 users here, but this post is directed at 202 users specifically.
I've been in contact with Roland support concerning the absence of a swing/shuffle option on the 202's drum sequencer. The option is available on the 505 and the 808. This makes the 202's drum machine extremely limited, obviously. The official Roland Youtube demonstration videos for the 202 state that the drum machine from the 505 and 808 are included in the 202 only "hidden" or "under the hood", meaning the surface controls for the drum machine of the 505 and 808 are accessed by secondary functions of the 202's surface controls. However, there is no option for shuffle/swing which is on the other DJ controllers. To be clear, the demonstrations do not simply say the drum voices from the 505 and 808 are in the 202 but the actual drum machine sequencer from the upper tier models is included.

This is either a case of oversight or a case of deceptive marking practices on Roland's part. The absence of shuffle/swing on a new Roland drum machine renders it useless in many everyday applications.

Roland support says there will be future updates to the 202, but all requests have to be forwarded to Japan. They have already issued an update which among other features added sounds from two other Roland drum machines, but no shuffle/swing option.

My question is what can a consumer do in a case like this? Do petitions work? Do class action lawsuits apply?
Where do 202 users who want the features as advertised by Roland go from here?
