Something that is escaping me is using external rack modules and controlling program changes and changing banks from the MV track parameter page. Anybody had any luck with this?

Cant seem to change banks on a 5050 module. Triton rack won't change programs or banks.

What values you use for the bank change MSB & LSB?

EDIT:

These are the bank change values I use with XV-5080, they should be compatible with 5050:

USER MSB=87 LSB=0
CD-A MSB=87 LSB=32 -- memory card
PR-A MSB=87 LSB=64
PR-B MSB=87 LSB=65
PR-C MSB=87 LSB=66
PR-D MSB=87 LSB=67
PR-E MSB=87 LSB=68
PR-F MSB=87 LSB=69
PR-G MSB=87 LSB=70

-- Expansion boards:

SR-JV-10 Bass&Drums
1-128 MSB=89 LSB=18
129-256 MSB=89 LSB=19
Rhythm MSB=88 LSB 18

SR-JV-11 Techno
1-128 MSB=89 LSB=20
129-256 MSB=89 LSB=21
Rhythm MSB=88 LSB 20

SR-JV-19 House
1-128 MSB=89 LSB=36
129-256 MSB=89 LSB=37
Rhythm MSB=88 LSB 36

Also make sure you haven't disabled receiving program/bank change messages on your synths.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Now gotta figure out the Triton.

Here are the bank change values for Korg: http://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/bank-change-messages-for-korg-products/

It's weird if your Triton doesn't respond to program changes, though...
(It's worth it to try with other MIDI cable - sometimes tiny contact errors can cause the most weirdest errors!)
(Also remember to check that all incoming MIDI commands are enableD: Program changes, Bank changes, controller, sysex etc)

Thanks for the help. I actually found charts for PC MSB and LSB for most of my modules last night. This stuff is not the easiest stuff to find and I don't know why manufacturers don't make this stuff more clear in the manuals. I'll try to test out everything when I get a chance. Quick question? If I want to make a PC on a track while its playing, do I have to record a PC? Basically by entering the PC MSB LSB numbers in the event editor? Not much info out there about this stuff. I will do a video when I get everything to work. Also do you know much about Sysex? This is something else I want to learn. It's on my bucket list.

Yes, this is how you do it.
