Just awaiting my FA06 delivery next week and have just joined this great forum. Using a set list is my biggest issue and changing samples through songs with a pedal. I see from videos that creating Studio Sets or Favourites is the way to go about things. I would like to set up the FA06 to flow through a selected list of voices or "tones" pre-set up on each particular song in order when playing live. I have had Roland, Korg and Yamaha keys for ages, started out with a Hammond B-3 and Leslie Pro 900 in high school. I now play in a 50's and 60's cover band locally. I had a Roland X-8 and loved it, I gave it to my son. Looking forward to my FA06 with excitement, should be here next week. Roland also has excellent videos on "hands-on" help for us keyboard players. Any comments would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Clan :)

The FA is a surprising package - it does a heck of a lot, very very well for not much buck! With 16 sounds that can be layered you can get immense sounds. As a synth (super natural), it is very powerful.

Make sure you download all the EXP packs from the axial website - full of sonic goodness and all free :)

Have fun!

Thank you cello ! nice to be here. I am bringing the FA-06 into my live keyboard set-up for very specific use. It will be used for background body for the band including a variety of JP synths, strings, pads and chorus, I rarely play any leads only where the song calls for it. My set up is a Yamaha ES7, Hammond SK2, Korg Krome 61, Korg M3 and either the Krome or M3 will be replaced with the Roland FA-06. Roland historically has been very strong in the analog arena and a lot of my favourite bands have Roland keyboards, I really miss my X8, my son has it now in his band. I have been very impressed with the video's on the FA-06, it will be a welcome addition. Once I test out the assortment of strings, pads, chorus and synths, I want to set these up in banks for Studio sets or Favourites say 2-4 voices per song depending on the keyboard requirement, so that I can step from tone to tone on each in order. I would like to switch by foot pedal rather than beam or pad to keep my hands free. I was going to purchase a Korg Kronos 61 which has this feature but I really do not want the complexity. I am a player, not a programmer, I want a light ready-to-go gigging keyboard with a lot of features. I am 59, semi-retired, and play keys in an "older generation" light rock dance band on the weekends, it's pure enjoyment for me. Can't wait to get my package this coming week ! An early Christmas present for me. Best regards Roland Clan.

question: is it possible to get a slow speed B3 + Leslie with C3 chorus/vibrato emulation on a Roland FA-06 ? Although I do have a Hammond SK2, I was originally considering buying the VR-09 but it did not nearly have the variety of tones found on the FA-06 for not that much more money. Cheers.
