Control pedal MIDI values - max/min

Control pedal MIDI values - max/min

13 Oct 2013, 03:44
Hi - been using a Fantom S for around 11 years, but never used a volume pedal. Im now doing so, but really want to set minimum and maximum levels.

Maximum is easy - its full, but I dont want the sound to be silent when the pedal is fully off - I want my "background" level. I play many instruments, and for most you can set minimum Midi values for the CC# associated with the pedal - but cant find anything in the manual (though I only have the Downloaded one as I cant find the original - so its not easy).

Can it be done in the S - if so how.

Many thanks

I have done this on my Fantom X and think it should work the same on the S. You start by shutting off expression on the Misc tab which is set out on page 60 of the manual. So now, the patch is not set to respond to expression through that setting but we set it elsewhere. You can tell the patch to respond to expression the way you want by programming it into the Matrix Control Settings. I assume one of the 4 is open so set that one to respond to CC11. Your starting volume for the patch now should be what you set in TVA and you can increase from that by setting the Ctrl sensitivity to somewhere between 1 and 63. Does this make any sense to you?
