Education time! Spread the word!!
30 Sep 2013, 05:33Over at Korg Forums in the General Synthesizers/Keyboards section there is a thread about what synths are best for abstract and ambient sounds. Until my post today, there was only one mention of V-Synth! I know a lot of people here are also members there and I think we need to educate on what I thought was an obvious to most choice!
Synths mentioned before my short post and an even shorter mention earlier about V-Synth include:
Roland JP 880
Roland JP 8000
KORG Wavestation
KORG Trinity
KORG OASYS
KORG KRONOS.
ACCESS VIRUS (any flavour)
Alesis Andromeda A6
Hartmann Neuron (by far the best for abstract and ambient)
KAWAI K5000
Waldorf Blofeld
Korg Radias
Casio VZ-1
Motif ES, XF (!! Really??) I have to say that I really don't agree that Motifs are great for anything outside of bread and butter sounds, but, subjective I suppose.
Prophet 12
Except for the Motif series, I would agree with this list, but, it surprised me that V-Synth only had one mention before my post. Come on, do musicians totally miunderstand this instrument? Even before I had one, I knew it was more than capable of producing sounds that would be at the very least extremely difficult if not impossible to accomplish on other synths.
They also covered some softsynths, but, I'm not a softsynth kinda guy.
Anyway, here is the thread:
