keeping same tempo but changing pitch on samples, vocal etc.

OK I am trying to sample some vocal phrases into my Fantom X. The problem I am having is when I assign the sample to the keyboard and play a key it works fine then I try to had a harmony, a 3rd higher, and then that sample plays back the sample but too fast!

So is it possible to sample a vocal phrase, send it to a patch and then play chords that all play the phrase at the respective pitch but all stay at the same tempo?

Thanks for any help.

Sol.

it's hard, but possible.
You should use other program, like melodyne, or even protools, that have pitch modifier.
On those programs, modify the phrase (pitching higher or lower), and export it as C, C#,D, D3.. every notes and reload them into fantom as notes.
make that phrase for every note you need.

Hi Florin2013,
Thankyou for your help. I actually found an easy way to sync vocal phrases.
Here is what I did;

I sampled my voice singing, "All you need is love", yes I am a massive Beatles fan!, but also because this phrase keeps the same pitch.

I then did the usual, normalize, truncate etc.

I then assigned the sample to the keyboard.

Then I went to the pro edit screen and and scrolled down to the WAVE screen, pages 62/63 of the user manual, and then I set the tempo sync parameter to on.

When I play a C note, a E note and a G note I now get a happy C chord singing the phrase and all the notes are in sync and sing the words in time with each other!

How cool is that! ;-)
