Summer NAMM 2013

Were we expecting/hoping-for anything out of Roland for our beloved 50's and 80's at the Summer NAMM? Any rumors? I just did a Bing search on "roland summer namm 2013" and other than several hits from back at the Winter NAMM, I came up with a big fat ZIP. Can't tell if Roland is even there !

Roland US is indeed there - they have two large stands I think (303C is one of them).

But as far as anything new from Roland is concerned - nothing; zip; nada.

Korg can only muster a new pitch tuner gadget thing/toy.

Summer namm is all about guitars. Roland brought zero keyboards last year. But they're not the only ones. It's just not been much of a show for keys. Maybe more in the new convention center. I'll find out tomorrow.

I'm not sure what's happening at the NAMM show but my Jupiter 80 delivers day in, day out in my studio. Been 2 years since I got this thing and I'm still in the honeymoon phase. What a great machine. Thanks Roland!

Just a statement of fact about NAMM because someone asked and I was there. Not meant as a complaint about Roland. As I said in an earlier post, summer NAMM is about guitars (And ukeleles!). Can't really blame Roland for skipping it if they are on a budget.

I quite like my J80 as well! If I could route aftertouch like any other controller I would absolutely love it. Patch editor not especially important to me. Maybe more important for J50 and integra. Librarian or at least some improved ways to handle multiple files on the same USB stick would be nice...
