I am a Kronos owner and that thing, while a dream machine in terms of its multiple sound engines, is really poorly built. I now have a screw or something rattling around in my Kronos that is sure to short something out eventually. Fortunately, I only paid $1680 for it. It's not a $3K machine by any stretch.
As for the VR-09...I am very excited about this board. I am buying one immediately to put on top of my G6 for gigs. I use B3 on about 10 songs and we play a lot of 80s stuff where the extra synth tones in the VR will come in handy.
Hey Billw good to see you're still rocking the G! I love mine as well, been a solid board thats capable of more than I expected. I know there's a few shortcomings, but its an under appreciated board. Sometimes I don't understand all the butthurt over the G. BTW I did get the Gator case in the end.
Interesting your comments about the Kronos. I was really interested in it, and like the sounds engines, but I was concerned about the build quality. The G just has a very assured feel and is great at gigs.
I like the look of this VR-09 as well. The organs in the G are a bit of a letdown, though. Have found a few useable ones, but this new board could be a good addition. A hands on no fuss lightweght board. I wonder of the synth section is a VA. Sounded good on the demos.
