How to obtain a good Hammond using JV-80 internal wavelist?

How to obtain a good Hammond using JV-80 internal wavelist?

Hi everyone!
I have a JV-80 and no expansion boards. I need a Hammond patch and would like to try to build up it using only the internal JV-80 wave list. I know that most people say that I would need to buy the Keyboard of 60's and 70's SR-JV80 board, but I could not find it in an affordable price that fits my budget (unfortunately). On the other have, I'm quite sure that someone get closer of a Hammond on the JV-80 'cause it's a problem for all JV-80 owners...
Well, if you can give me some tip&hints on how to build a Hammond for the JV-80 using only the internal wave list I'll appreciate that very much.
Kind regards.

Hi Dbrosa.

Tip - Hammond organ sounds can be built by simply layering a SINE wave at various pitches and volumes.

An Example - All pitches higher relative to the starting pitch -

Drawbar 1 - starting pitch
Drawbar 2 - octave + perfect 5th
Drawbar 3 - octave
Drawbar 4 - 2 octaves
Drawbar 5 - 2 octaves + perfect 5th
Drawbar 6 - 3 octaves
Drawbar 7 - 3 octaves + major 3rd
Drawbar 8 - 3 octaves + perfect 5th
Drawbar 9 - 4 octaves

For percussive effects, add a brighter wave, quick attack, quick decay, octave or octave + perfect 5th.
For a 'grittier' sound, add a touch of distortion.

Cheers!

Hi piaknowguy, TKS VERY MUCH for the reply, quite a quick reply!

Well, I'm feeling a dumb guy now... I've got your point regarding the structure of the Hammond sound, BUT, believe me: I DON'T KNOW exactly how to implement it in the JV-80. Since it's interface isn't so intuitive, and because of my poor comprehension of envelopes and so on, I don't have a clear idea of how to "program" the drawbars into the JV-80.

I guess now I need a kind of JV-80 "building up a patch" class (LOL).

By the way, tks again for the tip. I'll try hard to figure out how to implement it.

Kind regards,

Daniel
