CD/usb/mp3player connect to Fantom

I currently have a CD/Usb/mp3 player connected to my speakers to play backing tracks. However I need to run everything to my Fantom - X8's headphones. After doing a little searching in the forum it looks like all I need to do is cable from my "headphone" jack on the player and split (for stereo) to the "audio in" jacks on the Fantom. Then the volume for the player would be controlled by the player itself and/or the mix in "level" control on the Fantom and the Fantom's sounds would be controlled by its own separate "volume" control and yet all sounds only would come through at the headphones. Is this correct?

It also looks like if this is the right route to go, than I have the 6 effects available for the CD player with the Input Effect Setup Settings. If so does the Center Canceler effect work well at removing vocals?

Thanks all

Yes, to plugging into the Audio ins and using the level knob to control the volume. I've never used the Center Canceler effect, so can't say how good it is.

Everything is hooked up and works well. One unanticipated development is that volume for the cd/usb/mp3 player can be controlled either with the player itself or the "mix in" level knob but the fantom's "volume" knob controls the entire mix so if I want to raise/lower the volume of what I am playing I can't just use the main volume without effecting the "bands" volume. So I either play with both controls or use the individual part's volume on the mixer. I think for most songs I will just set up some different patches at the appropriate volume and save as a performance.
It is also nice to have the effects available for the "mix in". I did try the Center Canceler on a number of different songs without much success in removing the vocals.
One of the best things about this setup is I can either have the silent approach with the headphones or I can turn on the speakers and crank it up and yet not have to change any cables.
