what's the best way to init the whole V-Synth

I'd like to wipe the V-Synth out so that all the patches are INIT and there's no samples. What's the best way to do this?

I'm FINALLY working on bringing some of my samples into the V-Synth and I want to start from scratch. I don't know much about programming it - in fact I haven't programmed many synth sounds since the early 1990's - so I want to go in with a cleansed palette as a way to encourage me to try new things and better understand it's architecture. I'm using the original V-Synth, v.2 OS.

i tried system> init and deleting patches one by one but that was really a chore. tried formatting, tried cleaning project. tried factory reset. finally figured it out.

I've succeeded in creating a new project, and have imported 26 samples into the project and assigned them each to a patche. there's so much to play around with and it's such a friendly synth for navigating from one area to another. odd, it appears that only 15mb of samples can fit into memory - it says there's only 450k free. and the saved project has a date of 3/22/05. i can't figure out where to change the date on the v-synth.

the librarian utility is pretty weak. can't copy patches, just move them. no editor function. released in 2004, never upgraded beyond 1.0. i was hoping to copy the patches i made to multiple locations so i could more easily mess around with the different functions but i guess that's a button-pressing routine on the synth rather than option-click-drag on the mac.

* wait, i figured out the patch copy process in the librarian. the manual says to hold the command key, not the option key, but apparently the programmer didn't realize the the command key is used on the mac to select discontiguous items (things that are not next to each other), so you have to CLICK on the patch THEN press the command key before dragging

Press and hold SHIFT when turning the v-synth on. This will boot it up clear and free.
Stuff from Roland i have:
SH-101.TB-303.TR-707.V-Synth.XV-3080.M-DC1
Other stuffs:
x0xb0x.Pro-One.Waldorf Pulse/MWII.Monotron.

that's cool: holding shift while booting ignores the internal project and loads the project from the card.
and holding exit while booting starts the V-Synth without loading any project.

the v-synth specs say that it's got 50mb of sample memory but 32mb are filled with Roland's samples. So I start off with somewhere between 10mb and 15mb of usable space. My samples are huge: 500k-1MB in size, stereo 16 bits. I normalized the samples and found that a few weren't at the same pitch (oops) so re-encoded and imported tonight. I still haven't wrapped my head around everything this synth can do but I'm going to read the Tweakbook like a Bible and hopefully will have some patches to share in a couple of weeks.

holding shift and pressing the power button does not seem to work on mine in the way described above. "Da V Code still came up and the patches on my card in the back did not load. I will keep fiddling with it.
