Can't Get User Backup to Card Working

I want to back my entire internal Fantom XR memory to my memory card. I have a Kingston 128mb compact flash card and a Dazzle Compact Flash Card Adapter. It seems I have been able to do this in the past. When I perform the procedure, the card still shows the same data as before. Just to make sure there was nothing wrong with the card, I formatted it from the Fantom XR. It took the format (all Init patches and performance), but still won't take the user backup.

Is there a protect setting or something else I'm missing?

BTW, I don't want to get in to using the computer for this at this point. I just have a New Year's Eve gig that I put some patches together for and I want a backup on card. Real simple. Or at least I thought

If you want to back up the patches, you can do it manually within the XR. Just to to the File Utility and copy the FANS.SVD file from the /ROLAND/SND folder in the internal memory to any location on the card.

Thanks, Art. I wasn't able to get that to work, so I went ahead and connected the Fantom XR to the computer via USB. The manual is pretty miserable at explaining how that works, but it's real good at telling you what not to do! Anyway when I got it hooked up I showed an "F:" drive, which was obviously the Fantom XR. Then I just moved the entire contents over to a folder on my computer. I assume this is all of the data I would need to restore back to the Fantom or another Fantom XR. That's really all I need now. It's never broken down or acted weird (it is a Roland after all), so I have no worries.

I am moving away from hardware and towards software, but I would like to know more about how to create multiple user files on the Fantom XR which I can move to and from the computer. Is there a better tutorial or update to the manual which explains this?

EDIT: I just found your Fantom S/X FAQs which has lots of info about this. I will study it when I get the chance. Thanks Art for this as always!
