Saving Songs and SMFs to USB Memory stick

Saving Songs and SMFs to USB Memory stick

Hi
I've saved a song as an SMF and want to save it to a USB memory stick but I can't see anything in the manual about how to do that. I also anticipate creating songs with long samples which would not be able to fit in the internal memory so they would also need to be saved to USB and when I press "Write" I'm only offered a song number destination for saving but no indication of where it is being saved.
Any help or even a page number in the manual would be much appreciated.

First of all you need to go to MENU, Project and select Save As, and select USB drive as your destination. This will transfer your project to the USB drive and thus all it's data will be there as well.

Hi,
I tried doing this when I upgraded from v1.10 to v1.30 - I saved my project to USB with all the songs I'd spent months and months working on before I did the upgrade (or so I thought). After I upgraded to v1.30, I re-installed my project but all my songs were gone, although my Favorites settings all survived and my Live Sets too which was great for my band, but was really disappointed that all my hard work was down the drain.
Should I use Backup Project to USB in future? Or should I just save my songs as SMFs (can I copy these across to my computer for safe-keeping too?)

Thanks,
Shug
