When I use outputs 1 and 2 and plug them into my fast track ultra the sound quality is different. Its a little softer and it seems that its blurs sounds that use reverb? any help tips tricks greatly appreciated!!!!!

I'd love to help you out, Fx6kilogram, but I need to know more. When you say
When I use outputs 1 and 2 (of the Fantom X which is the main mix output?) and plug them into my fast track ultra the sound quality is different.
, what are you comparing it to? Different than what? Reverb does add an ambience to the sound which, when set at high levels can seemingly 'blur' the sound. Do you mean the reverb from the keyboard(Fantom X) or the reverb on the Fast-Track Ultra? Can you post more information?

Thanks!

Thanks 4 the reply! im comparing it to the beat that I make in my fantom. the quality of listening to it in the fantom...and yes I know the effect reverb does this but what im saying after I pass it through the outputs to my fast track then to pro tools the reverb seems like its way more than b4 and it softens the sound and loses volume. When I use the output also I have to turn my phantom volume down because everything is blurred at full volume...for example the bass goes from hitting hard and rumbling in my phantom to sounding like its blowing the speakers! haha

I'm thinking that it is highly unlikely that the mix outputs of your 'X' are the source of the trouble. Are you sure that you are running a dry signal from the Fast-Track? . . . That you are not running the signal through any of it's DSP chorus or reverb?

I know that the Fast-Track also has a pull-out gain knob that pads the sound at 20db for recording at high volumes. Try monitoring the mix from the headphone jack of the Fantom and then compare the mix with the headphone signal of the Fast-Track.

Is it possible to post short mp3 examples?

What do you mean by dry signal? And I am using reverb and chorus when I make the beat and it sounds good when I play it in the fantom! And I am monitoring using the fantom then monitoring through my fast track ultra...this is how I know the difference! What is this pull out gain knob you speak of?

*Mic/Instrument Gain/Pad 1-4 (Gain) – these knobs adjust the mic or instrument level input gain for channels 1
through 4. Pulling the knob out will engage a 20 dB pad on the Mic and Instrument input. Pushing the knob in will
disengage the pad.
