Fantom-X UltimateGrand MULTISAMPLE on Juno-G!

pedrokeysjunior:

I've been working on some software that automates this process for the Juno G... or at least almost automates it. It does all the hard work anyway (assigning the samples to each key and setting the parameters). I've got a prototype working, although it only assigns one layer right now. I'll be working on it to support up to 4 layers by velocity range. It'll probably take me a week or two to get it ready for beta testing.

Are you interested in beta testing for me?

This is a great idea, Fantom-X's UltimateGrand Piano in Juno G. This is great news, especially since so much effort has been made to overcome the lack of a dedicated multisampling feature. Guys, I don't know if this is legal though. In another thread in the Fantom-G section we did the same for the Fantom-G and out of the blue, copyright issues have emerged. I'm not sure if this applies to the Juno G as well, but Artemiy said that he will e-mail Roland to ask about this. I think we must stay tuned what happens about that. ;-)

My app has nothing to do with using a particular sample set. So it's perfectly legal... it's doing nothing more than automating a bunch of sysex commands for a given set of samples.

Whether it's legal to take a sample set from one synth and load it in another it a totally different question, and one which I have no knowledge of, nor responsibility for managing. The sample set I'm working with I sampled from a Steinway at a local piano store, so I'm quite fine legally... what others are doing is up to them to manage.

I began typing a response here, but always thought to start a thread myself, about improving the Juon-G's own piano patches, so please see

Improving Juno-G and SRX-07 piano patches!

I'm not saying transfering the Fantom-X UltimateGrand multisample isn't worth doing. I have no idea. But I have always seen a quick way to vastly improving the Juno-s own piano patches.
