Play button won't work

Alright well i was basically recording some midi tracks on the 8000 and i kinda got bored with it and started playing with my mpc . Alright I came the next morning to the song and hit the play button it would not play at all at all like all the other buttons seems to work but the play button . saved the song turned it off for about 20 mins and came bak and loaded it back up the song would not play . so i tried creating a other song so i turned the machine off and then turned it on .
Started a new song . Loaded some patches . and i tried to record it would not record like i hit the record button thats was cool started to here the metronome but no record cus the play button will not work.
Does this have something to do with a programing or something could be off in the settings ?
