Possibe MIDI set up?

Possibe MIDI set up?

22 Nov 2008, 10:39
Hello everyone, been awhile since I posted here. I was wondering is it possible to use my V-Synth as a midi interface for my other synths? Here is what I'm trying to do; Monomachine(MIDI) -> V-Synth(USBMIDI) -> Ableton Live(computer). I would like to be able to record midi data in Ableton Live from my Monomachine via V-Synth's USBMIDI feature.

Thanks

As I know, when you use the V-Synth's USB-MIDI mode, the normal MIDI input/output are disabled. At least, in my hosts, I do not see V-Synth main and V-Synth MIDI in/out listed separately as I do with Edirol controllers.

Let me try help. I use Sonar and have sucess to make VS-XT acts an converse interface betwen computer and midi keyboard. It´s quit simple: toggle USB-MIDI thru Switch to ON.
What I do:
1)Connect midi controller to VS-XT via midi cable.
2)Conect VS-XT USB cable to computer.
3) Toggle USB-MIDI Thru Switch on VS-XT to ON.
4) On Sonar ( or other DAW soft) midi track, make input source to VS-XT conected via USB drive.

What you play in Keyboard or other midi gear note msg at VS-XT midi input will recorded in midi track of DAW.

Both interfaces will work at same time, and midi msg incomming in normal midi input is routed to USB midi link.

I´m glad if i help you in something.
