Stupid noob RPS Question

Stupid noob RPS Question

11 Oct 2008, 04:27
Ok I have started playing around with the RPS so I can create some one man band type accompaniments Now I get how to record and save a pattern but 2 things confuse poor old me and even after rtfm I am stumped

1) I assign the patterns I have created to the pads but how do I switch patches that the keys are playing IE in the intro I play the lead with a guitar and the RPS taking care of the ep I then start a new pattern to do the main section and I want the RPS to take care of the guitar and to play the EP lead myself so how do I tell the keyboard and RPS that I want to change the patches that I am playing

2) Can I set up the RPS to play pad one once then if I hit pad 2 to come in about halfway through the last 1st pad measure how do I get pad 2 to start at the next 1st beat of the next bar not to overlap pad 1 and knock all my timing out by 2 beats and make an awful sound (Oh thats more confusing to type than achieve)

3) Last but not least do I save the RPS patterns and keyboard setup as a sequencer pattern

Many thanks

Tristian

OK I fixed the overlap by using mute group but even with trigger quantize set to measure when I hit a pad it still seems to switch on beat rather than at the end of the measure?

Hi Tristian, I've only just seen this post, but I'll try to answer it.

You've answered 1) yourself, you say, so I'll ignore that.

2) Set the RPS Trigger Quantize to "MEASURE". See manual p.203

3) You save them as a sequencer song file.

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Hi thanks I think I will format as the measure isn't working.

Many thanks

Tris
