some help with librarian please

4 Sep 2008, 09:26
Ok I can get the Fantom's librarian to see the fantom under midi devices but when I go to write or read data the boxes are all greyed out?

I have set the Fantom to USB Midi mode

Then I have gone to Utility and then librarian. I can get the patches to go through there demo but thats it I cannot import etc.

Any help would be appreciated I could do this with the juno but this is a different beast

Thanks

Tris

Go To File - Duplicate. This should give you a copy of the fxl which you can read/write to!

I know...its crap....but its better than nothing!

Also if you double click one of the patches you should here a demo. This patch will now be USER001 and you can write patch to your user or card area. You don't have to be in Librarian mode for this. It's Ok if you want to audition lots of patches but only save the ones you like.

If you want to import performances, rhythms, arps etc I think you need to be in Librarian mode

Its aros and rhythms that I want to write to the phantom. I have some of Perplextor's files that I want to transfer over as the stock guitar arps are just plain rubbish to my ears at least.

I used to use the audition then write trick on the JG I just sold but the arps etc have my confused

Thanks

in that case you should just be able to select all and click transfer I think. Then come out of librarian mode and the arps should be there.
