Passing the time...

Passing the time...

1 Apr 2008, 02:30
Hi, i'm new here, from Australia...
Eagerly awaiting the Fantom G, like I know alot of you are! I've put a deposit on a G8, organised my pedals, stand, and a case.

Has anyone seen the South Park episode where Cartman is waiting for the Wii to come out, but he can't wait so he freezes himself?
That's what I feel like doing right now... I mean, there's only so many times I can read through the manual, the guide, the soundlists, the pictures and specs, and all that stuff.

Basically, I think this thread would be a good place for people to share any other interesting links they've amassed from this forum (or elsewhere) related to the Fantom G, to pass the time this month, as we start to count down the days, the hours, etc...!

So i'll get started with the real super obvious ones:

Gareth,

Thanks for the answer....Freezing myself is the only answer.
This is mainly how I have felt as well.

My enthusiasm has been a little lessened by reading the patch list which is missing some srx-9 and srx-11 brass patches and srx-7 mellotron patches. But, I would say I am 90% totally excited.

Hey man, I am always excited, but never thought how to measure my excitement... You seem to know how, do you have some kind of an excitation measurement tool? Like this one?

No, but that machine looks like it might be sophisticated enough to insert the few extra patches I want in the G.

Can I borrow it when you are done with it?

Hey, is that the new multisampling rack?

Mada, Artemio was only hinting at the BIG PLAN once more.

This is the prototype of the Sampling ARX 03 board.
Perhaps you now understand why it is a BIG plan...

I feel as you do.I have been watching this site everyday, looking for tid bits of info on the FG.I know one guy name Jem of the frost band show us his FG 7.I wanted him to play some sounds so i can get my fix for that day.Iam still hopeing someone will put up a video of them playing the FG,so i can shout happy day with them. I heared a mp3 of a man demo a kurztweil pc3 and it sounded great, just something to pass the day buy until the FG gets in the stores for me to play.

I fear JEM was not amused coming here for the first time and getting into this situation of people mocking missing Roland info and demos. I'm already sorry it (we, I) hit him: he seems a very sympathetic guy.

But after you get that sarcastic kind of feedback for a videoblog on unpacking the G, you are probably not too much inclined to show that bunch of crazy Roland gear people more videos with the real G sounds ;-)

Jim, JEM's responses to the mentioned sarcastic remarks were full of ":-)" "lol" "fun" ":D" and a very relaxed finishing line:"You haven't seen nothing yet, you wait till I put it back in it's box! :D "

So, no need to worry about him "being not amused". I think he's VERY relaxed, cool and laid-back. I like his video where he talks about his storage media from a year ago, that suddenly worked again. Real fun, he's having!

yeah, Iam sorry that happen to him. I really enjoy his video's on youtube, especially on the fantom X. I hope he is not scared off by some of us,I know iam a little anxious to see the
Fantom G and what it can do.He makes it seem intresting,I like to see Jem do some programming on the Fantom G.That is something that i didn't do when i had the X. I want the Fantom G now, because of the things you can do with sampling and those SRX sounds as well as others sounds that come with it.I have been watching other guys sample with the X on youtube and it got me to thinking about making my own sounds and choping samples up to do other intresting things.
So hopefully we will see Jem again doin it up on the G"
