looking for a keyboard/arranger/synth/workstation
6 Feb 2007, 17:35Hello All,
I consider buying a new keyboard / arranger / synth / workstation to my teenagers (13, 15), instead of their old Yamaha PSR-85.
My goals are to let them:
* Move from entry-level to mid-level
* Play "live" ("Performance" mode in Juno-G?)
* Be able to relatively easily accompany (left hand) themselves, in a way similar to the auto-accompaniment (orchestration) in legacy keyboards, without programming the synth
* (Later, maybe a year from now -) Be creative, learn and put the effort of programming (arpeggios? rhythm sets?) resulting in creating their own music
* Get the best (piano, strings, guitar...) sound fidelity (preset patches and rhythms)
* At a reasonable price...
The candidates I'm thinking of are:
Roland EXR5S, JunoG, E50 (the FantomXa,X6,... are beyond our budget).
Korg PA50, TR61.
Any suggestions?
(PS - to the moderator: I have by accident posted this before in the "Other Roland Gear" thread. You may delete that post).
