One question about vsynth and the XT

One question about vsynth and the XT

Just one question other than the color screen are there any software or rather synthesis features that the v-synth does not have after installing v 2 upgrade that the XT does not have?

I m going to buy a v synth and not the XT this month, but just want to make sure im not missing out on anything important!

The V-Synth doesn't come with the VC-1 (D-50 emulator) and VC-2 (Vocal Designer) cards built-in like the V-Synth XT does. But other than that and the non-color screen, they are essentially the same. V-Synth (keyboard) has more control surfaces though. That's why I got it over the XT myself.

sonicly they are identical....the only difference is what nathan stated about the VC-cards and the color screen(awsome btw...), the fact of having a mic input with phantom power, and that the XT is also a USB Audio/midi interface as well.. So u get some percs. but only in features not sound..

Good luck with your choice,,,u'll be happy either way u go!:-)

yes but i would rather have the controls, plus there is a mic input on the back just not XLR right? I have a Fantom X8 so ill jus use that as a USB/MIDI interface and connect the v synth thru the X8, i also wnat to start skip back sampling stufff from the V-synth into the Fantom X how would i do that?

yes, it is not XLR, and not phantom powered.

jus connect the 'output' of the Vsynth to the 'audio in' on you're X8...and do your thang.

Perhaps I misunderstood your last post, but the V-Synth (keyboard) does have USB MIDI support, just not USB Audio. For MIDI, you don't have to connect your V-Synth through your X8 unless you want to via standard MIDI cables. As for getting mic input into the V-Synth keyboard and that sound into your X8, it's as Septimo said.

when u mention USB audio, do you mean an audio interface on the computer? If so, doesnt the FAntom x8 have USB audio?

No, the X8 has no USB audio steaming, only midi like the keyboard Vsynth...And what I mean is,,,, well the way you're thinkin of audio usb (i think) is that the X can transfer wav and Aiff files thru, right? Right. But the XT does that, and it also acts as Sound card, meaning that I can just sing straight into the XT, and record straight into Cubase / protools / Logic, whatever,,,without having to sample the singin and make a wav/aif file first...I hope I did'nt confuse u. ;)

Nathan, what I meant was that it (XT) had USB audio as well as the midi that they 'both' have....
