Multisample patches

Multisample patches

if we can't create multisamples, how was it used in v.1?

there is not a single preset patch that uses multisampling, and yet they bothered to put up multisample waves in the preset sounds! (even though they left them out in v.2)

so imagining I wanted to make a piano multisample patch using the v.151 preset multisample ac. piano how would it be done?
(I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the manuals either)

As I said in another thread, it is NOT possible with any OS, be it 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0. It was a "hidden" feature in OS 1.x series.

sorry if I started another thread

I just thought it was out of the previous theme...

why would they have preset multisample waves if they don't have mutisample patches nor can we make them?!

couldn't you do it by setting up 16 zones? i'm pretty new with this board, so i may be wrong, but thats how i would approach it.

how to make multisample patches (v.1.51)

the thing is the multisample waves available in v.151 for multisample patches come in groups of 3, 4 or 5
for instance: piano A, B and C and then we may have 1 or 2 VS (that stands for variable speed) waves.

with this information I would divide the keyboard into 3 parts and assign a wave to each, then possibly using OSC2 I could have the VS waves acting up with speed play...
I also don't know if there is hidden information in these waves (in the same way they did for the MenuWaves; this might give the possibility of really having one sample per key)

the problem is: there's no infrmation on how to actually do it!
If we can figure out how to divide the keyboard there is really no help on to wich key do we assign the wave, how to make VS work (I think if there was a Multisample Patch included in the presets it would be easier to figure out)

BUT

as Artemio stated before, there are no longer any multisample waves in v.200; sugesting Roland believes that the V-Synth can do very well without them...

Cromio,

You sure VS doesn't stand for "velocity-switched"? -- in Roland's typical sample nomenclature that's usually what VS tends to refer to.

Best,

rt

VS: you're right

"VS: The velocity switch is enabled. The sound will change in response to the dynamics of your keyboard playing. VS1 and VS2 are variations of the velocity switch"

what do you mean? is velocity switch defined by the wave??
I thought we would set that up while creating the patch!

then what does "a wave with the velocity switch enabled" mean?
