What options for MIDIfying a Juno 60?

What options for MIDIfying a Juno 60?

29 Mar 2006, 17:51
Looking for information on adding midi functionality to a Juno-60. There's a sweet looking retrofit avalable from Kenton, but it's a bit out of my price range... the MD-8 from roland looks to be quite rare & even more expensive than the Kenton... Is there such a thing as a DCB to USB connector? That would probably do what I needed...

Any info much appreciated!

Pearls of wisdom, no mistake, but I bought a Fantom-Xa anyways ;)

Juno-60 DCB

The DCB interface is not a full function midi equivalent. I think it includes only note on/off information. The DCB to midi convertor also has a channel selection function. I've got the MD-8, but have not used it in years. It's still a great value add asset for the Juno-60.

I enjoy my Juno-60 as a stand alone unit. Great filter flow sounds. The Juno-60 really shines in a mix against the other keyboards.

I'd be happy with on-off. Most of what I do with my synths ends up as 4 bar loop samples anyways.

Looking very much forward to adding the Juno to my rig, midi or no!

It's by total fluke, but every synth I've ever owned has been roland... I think it's simply meant to be!

Check out the Kenton DCB version of their ProSolo. That would be more economical than a retrofit, as you could use it with other dcb equipment.

Just a small remark...

...not "Kenton DCB version of their ProSolo", but Kenton Pro-DCB.
